President’s Message: 10 Minutes

I looked back at the articles that I’ve written this past year and with the exception of January, all have dealt with the horrendous damage that President Barrack Hussein Obama is doing to our country: massive spending bills (which included “pay backs” for Obama’s pet causes such as ACORN and Planned Parenthood), multitudinous czars that are not vetted and nor accountable to anyone except the “Prez”, cap and trade, and healthcare. And “The One” hasn’t even been in office for a full year! What does give me hope, however, is the resurgence of the American people who after at least 50 plus years of sitting by and watching from the sidelines as government grew and our freedoms diminished have suddenly awakened from a stupor.

So why we were so complacent…what caused us to sit back and let “Big Brother” become the “be-all, end-all” for everything? My theory is that life in America has been, up to now, pretty great and when things are going good, people get lulled into a false sense of security. Also, the “drive-by” media’s journalistic work has been patently pitiful. Instead of being a “watch-dog”, they’ve pretty much been the “lap-dog” of the Democrats and never more than for the current occupant of the White House. It’s also easy to fall into that old “I’m only one person, what can I possibly do to change things.” Let me give you some examples of persons who changed the course of history: Jesus, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and then there are others such as Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse-tung, Karl Marx, Osama Bin Laden. We may not be in the same league as Washington and those other good men, but if we all do a little something…make a phone call, send a fax, email, attend an event to become more informed, etc. we can and do make a difference. Do any of you realize the sphere of influence that you do have, the people whose lives you touch and who value your opinion? If you reach out to them and they reach out to their friends, a movement can start. We must act now while we still have free communications and we cannot rest or we will have failed our children and our grandchildren. I do not want to be the generation that let this country fall. We owe it to all those brave men and women who have fought and died in the past and to those who are today protecting and dying for this country to do everything we can here at home to see that their sacrifices have not been in vain.

It is my challenge to you to take 10 minutes out of your busy schedule daily during the week and a bit more time on Saturday to make a few phone calls or send a fax or email, etc. Spread the word. We have only a small window of opportunity to save this great nation. I, for one, want to know that I did all that I could.

I leave you with these two thoughts:

“No man’s life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.” Mark Twain (1866).
“A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.” Thomas Jefferson
