Health Care Reform Protest Locations

Late last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dropped a nearly 2,000-page bill down on Congress and is demanding quick action on it.  This bill is a disaster in the making.  If passed, it will cost Texas 15,000 jobs by having the government shut down doctor-owned hospitals.  It will introduce a government-run health care option that threatens to destroy private insurance as we know it.  It will raise your taxes, and it will increase your insurance premiums, and it will put bureaucrats between you and your doctor.  Veterans groups oppose this bill, fearing that paying for this gigantic new entitlement will rob our veterans of the benefits that they have earned defending our country.

The Pelosi Bill will:

  • Cost $1.3 trillion, or $500 million per page, financed through massive debt and tax hikes
  • Raise taxes 13 different ways, including forcing Americans to buy a product (health insurance)
  • Increase insurance premiums and decrease access to health care
  • Cost Texas at least 15,000

This bill must be stopped.  The good news is, all of Texas’ Republicans are working together to defeat this bill.  the bad news is, some Texas Democrats have not yet made up their minds as to whether they will support Texas families, veterans and health care professionals, or whether they will support the extremists in their party who are trying to take over one-sixth of the US economy via this bill.  these Democrats are Reps. Chet Edwards (Waco), Ciro Rodriguez (San Antonio) and Solomon Ortiz (Corpus Christi).  The vote will be very close.  You can help.

What You Can Do

You can help these Democrats make up their mind.  Demonstrations are already scheduled in two of these Democrats’ districts, and two more are in the planning stages.  Here are the planned protests.

We urge everyone who can make it to attend these demonstrations to show that Texans oppose Pelosi’s health care takeover bill.. Even if you do not live in these districts or cannot get to these protests, you can get involved by writing letters to your local newspaper editors urging that your Congressional Representatives listen tot he voice of Texas and VOTE AGAINST this health care bill.  Call in to your local talk radio shows and make a firm, clear case against the bill.  Especially if you are a health care professional or a veteran, your letter and your phone call will carry great weight with the public and with those three undecided Democrats.

Thanks for all that you do!
