The road construction, though not totally complete, is progressing more quickly than projected.  The entrance to the CCGOP HQ office parking lot is again open and there's no need to take the detour through the subdivision to the east. 

An Executive Committee Meeting will be held for all newly elected Precinct Chairs on May 17 at the CCGOP HQ office, 8416 Stacy Road, McKinney.  It will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.  Texas Supreme Court Justice Dale Wainwright will preside over the swearing-in of the newly elected precinct chairs.  State GOP Vice Chairman, Dr. Robin Armstrong, will also be in attendance to speak to the Committee.

State Convention:  The State Convention will be held in Houston, TX June 12, 13, & 14.  The Hilton Hotel, across from the Convention Center, is serving as the host hotel.  Room rates begin at $166/night.  Other nearby (somewhat) hotels may have less expensive rates.

We are finalizing plans and preparing to begin the build out on our new Collin County GOP Headquarters.  We are happy to say that our new home will be in McKinney at the beautiful and prestigious Craig Ranch.  David Craig and the Craig Ranch family have welcomed us with open arms.

 GOP Presidential hopefuls are already busy visiting  and reaching out to our conservative grassroots.  Last week we had a grassroots conference call and Q & A with a Republican Presidential candidate.  He stated that if you do not have support from the CCGOP, you can not win Texas . 

One of the highlights of the summer was when a group of Collin County GOP activists led by event coordinator, veteran and Precinct Chairman Roger Bolin greeted soldiers at DFW airport as they arrived back home from Iraq.  We were honored to have Congressman Sam Johnson and Mrs. Johnson along with Congressman Ralph Hall stand with us as we cheered for our brave men and women who put their life on the line to fight for our FREEDOM.  It was moving to say the least and something we will participate in again.

Our own Collin County Vice Chairman Linda Schenck and Bob Collins were recently named by the Republican Party of Texas as the Volunteer of the Year for Senatorial Districts 8 and 30, respectively!  Thank you, Linda and Bob, for the difference y'all make in our Party.
